Today we deep dive into the beautiful area of Mijas Golf, featuring the holy trinity of mountains, beach, and golf. Located within the municipality of Mijas in Andalusia, Spain, Mijas Golf is just a short 15-minute drive from the picturesque white-washed village of Mijas pueblo, often described as one of the most charming villages on the Costa Del Sol. Its excellent location means it’s just a short distance, some 3.5km, or a short 10-minute drive to the golden beaches and tourist hot spots of Fuengirola and La Cala de Mijas.

For families with school-age children, St Anthony’s College is located in a neighbourhood called La Cala Hills, right in the heart of Mijas Golf. The English-speaking private school is one of the oldest on the “costa” and follows the British curriculum right up to sixth-form age. Just down the road from St Anthony’s school you will find the recently upgraded and refurbished Mijas Racquet Club which offers everything from padel, zumba, a fully-equipped gym, and even a summer camp for children - not forgetting the on-site café and their delicious chicken Caesar salad.

Mijas Golf has quite rightly so, established itself as a firm favourite for families living here on a full-time basis, as well as, for people, commonly from Northern Europe, who own a second property and wish to visit sporadically throughout the year to soak up the wonderful climate in winter months, and to enjoy all of the wonderful facilities on offer in the region, of which there are many.

The municipality of Mijas truly offers it all, from mountain trails to hike to clean and lifeguard-patrolled soft sand beaches, and of course the world-class Spanish cuisine – did somebody say tapas?

But Mijas Golf has another ace up its sleeve – golf!

It is a haven for golfers featuring not one, but two 18-hole courses. Home to both Lagos and Olivos golf courses, boasting the spectacular backdrop of the Sierra de Mijas mountain range. The reopening of the 5-star Byblos Hotel, once well-known as the playground for the rich and famous, has now been renamed as “La Zambra Hotel”, operated by the Hyatt hotel chain. The reopening has brought a lot of well-deserved hype to the Mijas Golf community, one that promises to deliver excellence and luxury in its facilities, and an ample-sized hotel of 196 rooms.

In their design of Mijas Golf, they have been mindful to incorporate large green zones for walking and to soak up the great outdoors, and for total peace of mind, 24-hour on-site security is also provided.

The area itself Mijas Golf is made up of a mix of villas, residential plots, townhouses, and apartments, with a well-thought-out design in mind to maximise the views - take your pick from mountain, golf, or ocean, or how about all three!

So with all of that Mijas Golf has to offer, what can you expect to pay for a 3 - 4 bedroom detached family villa?
Currently, there are over 40 villas for sale within Mijas Golf, the entry-level for a 3-bedroom home is €500,000 and the top-level home is currently advertised for €1.75 million.

Would you prefer to opt for a residential plot, a townhouse, or how about an apartment?
The residential plots, some of which are front-line golf, start from a size of 840sqm and enter the market at €250,000. Townhouses at an entry level are €229,900 for a 2 bed 2 bath property. Entry-level apartments start at €209,900 for a 2 bed 2 bath unit.
